Woodland Prairie Garden

Located between the Reception Garden and the properties north wall, this area is dedicated to native wildflowers and will, from an educational standpoint, provide an excellent contrast to the shade garden on the property's south flank. Here, school groups and home owners can see how an urban garden can be planted to restore the aesthetic and ecology of a native Wisconsin woodland landscape. A meandering gravel path will lead visitors through drifts of Trillium, Jack-in-the-pulpit, lady Slipper orchids, Bloodroot, Hepatica and other spring ephemerals. Rustic benches will provide a quiet retreat for all to enjoy.
